In a world where music has so many different genres and personalities, Sophia Laura remains passionate about writing music that speaks about real emotions, desire, love and sometimes even pain. She has been writing since 2012, but has since perfected being in touch with her feelings, and allowed herself to become a lot more vulnerable over the years. #TeamSoph is getting ready for its most content-packed professional launch since its inception, starting in September of 2021. Covid-19 certainly caused some delays, but there is no stopping an ambitious girl with so many dreams!

BIOGRAPHY
Being born and raised in Framingham, the largest town in the United States, Sophia Laura focuses on putting her town, “the Ham”, on the map. The 28 year-old Brazilian singer and songwriter has been focusing on getting her name out there and singing her heart out, anywhere she can, to people from all walks of life.
Often being the only female artist at the venues she performs, Sophia Laura brings something new to the table: her audacious lyrics and singing style. Her first hit, Mysterious Ways (DJ Andre Bueno feat. Sophia Laura and W) helped her gain plenty of fans from her town, who eventually named themselves #TeamSoph.
After just one year of deciding to take music seriously, Sophia Laura’s limitless mentality has allowed her to perform at multiple venues such as the Wonder Bar (Brighton, Ma), the Gold Dust Meridian (Portland, OR), Bunker Hill Community College (Boston), Redemption Rock Brewery (Worcester, MA) Sam Sushi (Framingham. MA) Angry Ham’s (Framingham, MA), Hard Rock Café (Boston, MA), Firefly’s (Marlborough, MA) Mexico City Grill (Ashland, MA), along with many more venues, backyards, birthday parties, or anywhere where voice is appreciated. Still, if you are lucky enough, you might catch Sophia Laura singing to you table-side at Worcester’s best restaurant, Lock 50. She has also had the opportunity to perform at multiple sports venues, such as the Tsongas Arena, to sing the National Anthem & God Bless America for the Division 1 team, UMass Lowell Riverhawks.
In 2020, during the pandemic lockdown, Sophia Laura decided life is too short to not live out her dreams, and went into her music career full-time. She strives to not only wow you from stage performances, but to also make sure you hear her lyrics being sung by other artists. She works selling Marble and Granite countertops out of Franklin, Massachusetts when she is not writing music, or on stage performing.
Her first project, All for Nothing, is different than her usual, but she expects to show the world a little bit of her heart on her sleeves. Her second single “Somethings” (prod. By Myke Chexx ft. Fez Williams) has been a nice relief, because it was the song that helped Sophia Laura realize she is going through a new era of being able to write about the happy side of love, as opposed to betrayal, hurt, and manipulation. Promising to always write authentic music, Sophia Laura continues to work with many local artists, businesses, and entrepreneurs, with the hopes that the state can build a unified team similar to Atlanta, Chicago and Miami.

Name: Sophia Laura
Organization and Title: Singer-songwriter and Business Consultant
Worcester History: Laura grew up in Framingham. She has always been a massive hip-hop fan. “One of my big motivational examples is Joyner Lucas,” she said. “The music scene in Worcester is underrated, but I have so much love for the 508.”
Why We’re Watching: Laura is more than just a brilliant Brazilian singer and songwriter. “I try to find synergy between what I do, and what my community needs, and then adapt my strategy,” she explained. “For example, this summer, when I had a cool performance at Redemption Rock Brewery’s ‘Rock The Block’ party, I also set up a yard sale and mini-backyard concert, where we donated all the items not sold, and allowed neighbors to come sell their items as well.”
